Most of the time, I kind wrack my brain to figure out what share on any of my platforms. Yes, some of the it is based on what I’m doing at the time, but not all of the time.

The absolute easiest way to come up with content is by simply answering questions that are asked of me.

This is exactly what happened when I made the video above on my Instagram account a couple of days ago. The question asked if I had a DIY Natural Veggie Wash that can help reduce pesticides on fruits and vegetables.

When I was asked what I used to clean my produce and why, I shared my 2 (or 3), simple and affordable ingredients wash I use for our fruits and veggies.

What I Use, How, And Why

This may sound almost too simple, but the only real ingredient you need to get your produce clean is baking soda.

According to this study, a mix of water and baking soda was effective at cleaning off surface dirt and even some pesticides depending on how long the produce (apples were specifically used in the study but given that apples are one of the highest pesticide laden fruits on the market, it’s pretty easy to guess this can be used for others and it be equally as effective), sat in the mix.

I usually fill my kitchen up with water (more cool than hot but not too cold), and add a couple tablespoons of baking soda to the bath. I allow them to stay in the sink for around 15-20 minutes then clean and store them as usual.

In this study, they mentioned the solution being able to clean off more from the produce than water with bleach mixed in.

While just about any baking soda can be used, I use this baking soda because of the higher quality. Keep in mind I use this same baking soda to make face scrubs, bake goodies, brush my teeth occasionally, make deodorant, create heartburn remedy drink, and more. So, I just opt for the higher quality but try to find it at the lowest prices or on sale.

Be sure to check out the study to get deets and build more context around the super simple, money saving fruit wash.
