Ask A Lactation Counselor: Breastfeeding IG Live with Tamiqua, Owner of Latching in Love (Replay Link)

As I’ve started to expand my topics and reach, I knew I wanted to make connections with other knowledgable and inspiring women doing great things.

That’s why I reached out to a couple women I’ve met either in person on through other means to have real conversations with them on topics relevant to both my life and many moms and women in our community.

Breastfeeding is certainly one that’s very real in my current life. At the time of this post, I have been nursing my daughter for almost 12 months and it has been a success overall (with the occasional hiccup along the way).

This is a stark difference from my breastfeeding journey with my son more than 9 years ago. I was only able to nurse for 2-3 months before the entire thing made a traumatic turn for the worst. It was that experience which made me that much more determined this time around.

It was both these journeys which brought the existence and incredibly transformative work of lactation educators, counselors, and consultants.

Tamiqua, the Owner of Latching In Love, LLC, and Certified Lactation Counselor, reached out to me quite some time after I sat on a radio panel with a good friend of hers.

Tamiqua is a wife and mom of 3 who’s initial journey went much like my own, leading to a (much) more successful second and third journey. Having her support from afar was so comforting and I knew I had to include her on one of my chats with inspiring women.
