Everlane Size Review: The Ultimate Guide To Getting The Right Fit

It was about 5 years ago when I first came across the brand Everlane and I thought “Ever-what?!”. I heard it mentioned a couple of times by an Influencer and decided to give a Google. I was expecting it to be another super expensive brand that I would add to my wishlist of places to shop when I got my bonus.

everyone size review: the ultimate guide to getting the right fit

To my surprise, it was nowhere near as expensive or inaccessible as I had made up in my mind.

In fact, Everlane has since become one of my favorite brands to shop with for a lot of reasons.

But, figuring out Everlane’s sizing over the years has been TRICKY! So, I’ve decided to share my experience and thoughts about the brand and it’s sizing.

I must admit that I’ve been a long time Madewell lover. Madewell’s simplicity and commitment to quality has brought me back to their stores and websites for years before they became more loved than their sister brand j. crew.

But Everlane has a slightly elevated but simpler, more minimalistic spin that I was often missing with Madewell clothes. That’s why I honestly think Everlane is a great Madewell alternative.

What’s So Special About Everlane?

Everlane has a following by a particular target market which is looking for minimalist, sleek, and fashionable designs that are made with good quality materials. In addition, they believe in concepts which aren’t usually valued in the fashion industry such as radical transparency, the regular use of organic cotton in everyday wear, a full denim size range, the use of different body types in their advertising, and sustainable fashion.

While the extent of their sustainability and transparency has been questioned over the years, I feel there are few brands in the same boat as Everlane at this price point.

What I think makes them special or at least different than a lot of other brands is their high quality materials and the style of the clothes for someone in my age range. As an older millenial who’s a mom, it’s nice to find clothes that fit me well in all the right places and can work with my personal style as it is evolving with my age.

In addition, I love that they use organic cotton in a good amount of their cotton products. I have this Organic Cotton Cutaway Tank in just about every single color. And it’s only $15 when you buy 3 and $18 for one.

As someone who’s spoken about the potentially negative effects of non-organic cotton in clothing and other products, I try to opt for organic cotton for my self and my kids when I can.

Having a great base of staple products as found at Everlane is the foundation of a great capsule wardrobe.

Why is Everlane So Popular?

While the answer to this question is highly subjective, I can share why I think I love Everlane so much.

When I started looking for staples for my core capsule wardrobe staples which used better options for materials and organic cotton AND sustainable fashion options thrown in as a big MAYBE, I inevitably came across the super popular Eileen Fisher quickly came up in my search results.

BUT, as much as I love some of their pieces, they can be incredibly pricey. I’ve been able to score a couple of items on sale, but in general they can be out of our family’s current budget.

Everlane’s clothes have the same minimalist styles, but at a lower price point.

So, that’s what makes Everlane special in my opinion.

Does Everlane Ever Go On Sale?

YES! While I order from them year round because some items definitely sell out quickly like their way-high jean (my size had a 3 month waitlist), they do have very good sales.

They have a sale section that can be found here open all year.

But, Everlane does have seasonal sales where you can find great deals. I was able to get this wool coat I was crushing over for months at a very low price.

Are Everlane Jeans Good?

In my opinion, yes. They are a comparable to Madewell jeans. I’ve had certain styles from both brands for years. I’ve stopped wearing the high or low rise skinny jean styles from any brand (and no it’s not because the Tik Tok generation called us old), so their straight leg and extra high waist options are my favorite.

More specifically, their Cheeky Straight Jean and shorts have been in my regular style rotation. Brands like Old Navy have been making very similar styles over the last couple of seasons. But, Everlane’s jeans are a great addition to your denim collection and should last for a couple years.

And yes, they do wash well and do not stretch out after a couple hours of wear.

What About Everlane’s Sizing Range?

Everlane’s sizes are incredibly inclusive. Their full size range of denim runs from size 23 to 33. They also have lengths in regular and ankle.

Does Everlane Jeans Fit True To Size? Do Everlane Jeans Run Big?

The answer is, it depends. While their denim sizes vary from skinny to wide leg and even a curvy fit, this also means there is not always consistency between each pair of jeans.

The Everlane size guide is helpful, but doesn’t exactly answer the questions about a specific pair of everlane jeans.

Here’s what I do before purchasing a pair of their pants:

Hopefully this quick and dirty guide helped clarify the mystery that can be Everlane’s sizing. I will continue to be a long time fan of Everlane because they make my life much easier while keeping me stylish so I can go about my day and worry about other things.

  1. Check the Size Guides: They give overall guidance of the garment measurements and even breaks it down by different sizes.
  2. Check the Style of Pant: In general, their wide leg jeans require me to size down to a 27 while their straight leg jeans fit true to size. I order a 28 waist size, just as I do with Madewell jeans in just about everything else.
  3. Check The Reviews: The review section of any website is literal gold. Read the comments and see what other people have said about the specific item.

Happy Shopping!
