Girls Just Wanna Have Fun…that’s how the song goes, right?

Cyndi Lauper sure knew what she was talking about because girls of all ages love getting together and finding a new place or activity to try during a Girl’s Night Out. As a mom, having these outings are essential as part of my self-care practice. As they say, if mama’s not happy, NOBODY’s happy!

My friends and I have been seeing ads for paint and wine nights out for the last couple of months and have been putting the idea on the shelf due to scheduling issues. But when the holidays were over and the customary “I’M IN NEED OF A GIRL’S NIGHT!!!” text (yes, with all caps and often with a very animated emoji or two clearly stressing that putting it off any further would be putting our other halves in danger of unnecessary attitude) came through our group text chat, I knew it was time to make this Paint & Wine night a priority.

Painting and Wine parties hosted by Pinot’s Palette are two to three hour events where each person who attends walks in just looking to have fun and out an true artist.

A teacher guides the class step-by-step in creating the selected picture of the day. During the class there are inexpensive drinks available for purchase at the bar.

Thankfully I came across a Pinot’s Palette located right in Park Slope, Brooklyn. This location worked out perfectly for us being that it was not that far from any of our homes. It is located at 382 5th Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.

Pinot’s Palette Park Slope is a beautiful and warm open space for up to 64 people. The staff was so friendly. We were welcomed in from the cold and helped with our coats and shown storage for our personal belongings. We were then explained the process and ushered to our seats and given aprons.

We had a party of 6 and were able to be seated together so that we could check out each of our paintings as the night went along.

Each spot had our name written in front of our canvas along with the paint we needed for the selected painting of the evening.

Television sets on both sides of the room so everyone can see the main picture.

While it was easy to view the teacher from almost any seat in the room, there were also 2 televisions on both sides of the room broadcasting the teacher and her canvas so that everyone could easily follow along.

We grabbed our drinks before the class got started and were pleased with both the variety and prices. They even had drink specials for the evening making the deal even better. This location also had tasty pizza to snack on while the class was in session.

We had so much fun trying to follow along with the teacher. She was very easy to talk to and went slow enough so everyone stayed at the same pace. There were also other attendants coming around seeing if we needed any more supplies or help.

The 2 hours seemed to fly by between the painting, the drinks, and the laughter coming from our section of the room.

Finishing up our paintings.

The best part of the entire night was seeing how each person interpreted the image that was selected for us to paint. While each of us had the feel of the main picture, each one was a little different. One of my friends even added elements that weren’t even in the original picture.

My first masterpiece at Pinot’s Palette Park Slope.

Our night at Pinot’s Palette Park Slope was so awesome. We were literally trying to figure out another couple of dates to bring the kids, (yes, they have kid friendly sessions during the week), along with other family members while our paintings were drying.

I highly recommend checking it out for a girl’s night, date night, or even a way to spend a night meeting new people going it alone. Check out Pinot’s Palette Park Slope on their website www.pinotspalette.com/parkslope.
